Im kind of afraid, Im 13 year old girl, I’m going on a short flight, about an hour to fisit cousins who will pick me up at the airport. Im flying from oakland 2 S. Cal (not los angeles) will I be safe flying alone? im not flying as an “unaccompanied minor” because i think i could handle it, i won’t have anyone with me that I know, should i be scared?

You’ll be fine. If you think you can handle it just go with that confidence. I flew overseas by myself for the first time and I was really nervous, but I was completely fine. Just follow the signs and don’t be scared to ask for help if you can’t find something. That’s what the people are there for! Some airlines will require that you are accompanied for some of the time I think. You should call your airline and check though, or one of your parents to. Everything will be fine! And you will be safe. Have a good time!

You’ll be fine. I fly alone all the time; as long as you show up at the right gate with your boarding pass and ID, you’re in good shape. The Oakland airport is easy to deal with; likewise, if you’re going to Santa Ana or one of the smaller airports in the L.A. area, they’re well-marked and easy to deal with.

Not at all, have your mom/dad call and maybe the stewardess can walk you out or something. Good luck

The airline will require that you be chaperoned at least to and from the gates.
